Littleton Cafe: Menu Design
Jul 2015
While working at Envirofriendly printing, some longtime service industry folks purchases the old IHOP building next to us and started a diner-style restaurant named The Littleton Cafe. They came to us asking for a menu design as they were starting up. We started from scratch with just a database full of menu items, the dimensions of the menu holders and the number of pages available, and the raster clipart plate and silverware logo they had used on their outdoor signage.
I started by converting the logo to vector and incorporated it on every page, including a background image that spanned across two-page spreads to help tie the design from page to page. Additionally, I photographed all the food images, including set dressing and image clean-up. For such an expansive amount of options, I think the menu options were organized and showcased in a way that makes sense and was easily navigable for the restaurant's patrons.
